Læreren som moralsk aktør og undervisningens etik: En interdisciplinær undersøgelse

Afhandlingen er et bidrag til den internationale læreretikforskning, der tager udgangspunkt i det forhold, at den professionelle lærers undervisning er en moralsk orienteret aktivitet med immanent moralsk betydning.
Formålet har været at opnå nye forståelses- og handlemuligheder i forhold til undervisningens etiske dimension. Dette er indfriet gennem en interdisciplinær undersøgelsestilgang, hvor jeg har belyst en gruppe læreres erfaringer med den etiske dimension i deres praksis gennem en række filosofiske perspektiver.
Afhandlingens undersøgelser peger på, at disse lærere opfatter deres undervisning ud fra en moralsk fortolkningshorisont, og at deres professionelle tilfredsstillelse afhænger af deres mulighed for at realisere væsentlige moralske goder. Lærernes undervisningspraksis kan således beskrives ud fra begreber som moralsk stress, etisk-strategisk kompetence og professionel ulydighed.
I kraft af denne moralsk orienterede undervisningspraksis kan skolen endvidere bestemmes som et ’mellemsted’ for etisk dannelse, hvor samfundets værdier og skolens værdigrundlag formidles kritisk.
