About Open Books

Open Books is the Royal Danish Library's national publishing platform for professional and scholarly e-books. Here you can find publications such as monographs, anthologies, PhD theses, and reports published by employees at Danish research institutions.

Open Books is an Open Access platform. This means that you get free access to all content without login or payment. Open Books aims to contribute to making research openly available to the public and to promote global knowledge exchange.

The Royal Danish Library hosts Open Books and is responsible for the technical maintenance of the platform. The individual institutions are responsible for the content on their own site and act as publishers of the e-books.

In addition to Open Books, the Royal Danish Library also operates tidsskrift.dk, which is a publishing platform for professional, scientific, and cultural journals.
